Frosted glass stickers Dubai - office privacy and branding guide - MaxPrint

The 30-second answer: A frosted sticker turns clear glass into an etched-glass look — it blocks the view but keeps the daylight. At MaxPrint it starts at AED 30 per m² supply-only and AED 55 per m² installed for plain frosted, rising to AED 105 per m² installed for full-colour printed film — against a Dubai market that quotes AED 80–180 per m² for branded film. Here is how to choose the right type without overpaying.

What is a frosted sticker, exactly?

A frosted sticker — also searched as frosting sticker, frosted glass sticker or privacy film — is a matte grey-white vinyl film applied directly onto glass. From a metre away it looks identical to sandblasted or acid-etched glass, but it costs a fraction of the price, goes up in hours instead of days, and can be removed or re-cut when your office layout changes.

That last point matters more than people expect. Etched glass is permanent: change your logo or move a wall and you replace the whole panel. A frosted sticker is a consumable — peel it off, apply the new one, done.

It does two jobs at once: privacy, because nobody can see through it from either side, and daylight, because the glass still passes light so the room never feels boxed in.

How that compares to the Dubai market

Published Dubai rates run AED 35–55 per m² for plain frosted from window-tinting companies, AED 60–150 per m² from privacy-film specialists (usually with an AED 600–900 minimum job charge), and AED 80–180 per m² for branded and printed film. A 20 m² printed reception treatment is commonly quoted at AED 2,500–5,000. The same 20 m² printed and installed with us is AED 2,100.

Most print shops in Dubai do not publish frosted prices at all — you have to request a quote and wait. Ours are on the page.

The five frosted sticker types

Type What it looks like Best for
Blank frosted Plain full-coverage frost, no design Meeting rooms, bathrooms, partitions — pure privacy
Gradient frosted Fades from solid frost to clear Modern offices that want privacy at eye level and openness above
Printed frosted Your logo or pattern printed in colour on the frost Reception walls, clinic entrances, branded glass doors
Standard cut Your logo cut from frosted film — frosted shape on clear glass A clean logo on an otherwise clear door or window
Reverse cut Frost everywhere except the logo — the design stays clear glass The premium look: a see-through logo floating in frosted glass

Standard cut and reverse cut are the two people confuse most. Standard cut = the logo is the frosted part. Reverse cut = the logo is the clear part. Reverse cut photographs better and is what most agencies and clinics ask for — for AED 13 more per m².

Where UAE businesses actually use frosted stickers

Meeting rooms. A frosted band across the middle of the glass gives privacy while seated but keeps the room bright and visible from outside — the standard specification in almost every Dubai office fit-out.

Clinics, pharmacies and labs. Consultation rooms and reception counters need patient privacy without sealing the space. Frosted film is easy to wipe down and does not harbour dust like curtains or blinds.

Salons and spas. Full-height frost on the shopfront keeps clients unseen from the street while the signage stays visible.

Glass entrance doors. Beyond branding, a frosted band at eye level is a safety measure — it stops people walking into full-height glass, and many Dubai facility managers ask for it before handover.

Retail and restaurants. Frost the lower half of a partition, keep the top clear, and you separate a service area without shrinking the room.

Frosted vs one way vision vs printed vinyl

Film See through? Use it when
Frosted No — blocked both directions, light passes You want privacy and a premium etched look
One way vision One way — you see out, they see your graphic Shopfronts and vehicle windows that need a full-colour ad
Printed vinyl No — solid, opaque Bold graphics where you do not need any light through

One caution on one way vision: the effect reverses at night. Once the inside is brighter than the outside — a lit shop after sunset — people can see in. Frosted has no such weakness, which is why it wins for anything privacy-critical.

How to measure your glass in two minutes

Measure the width × height of the glass only, not the frame, in metres, and multiply. A 2.4 m × 1.2 m partition panel is 2.88 m². Do each panel separately and add them up — a 3-panel partition is three measurements, not one — then enter the total as your quantity.

If you want a band rather than full coverage, decide the band height too: 100–120 cm from floor level is the usual eye-level band for a seated meeting room, and 40–60 cm works as a safety marker on doors. Add roughly 2 cm of tolerance per side — it is far cheaper to trim film on site than to come up short.

Not sure? Send a photo of your glass on WhatsApp and we will measure and quote it the same day.

Installation and care

Frosted film is applied wet: the glass is cleaned, the film floated on a soap solution, then squeegeed out. Small bubbles and a slight haze are normal for the first 24–48 hours while the solution evaporates — do not pick at them.

After that, clean it like glass but gently: soft cloth, water or mild soap. Avoid ammonia-based glass cleaners, abrasive pads and blades. Indoors, a properly installed frosted film comfortably lasts 5–7 years before it starts to yellow or lift at the edges.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a frosted sticker cost in Dubai?

Plain frosted film starts at AED 30 per m² supply-only and AED 55 per m² installed. Cut-logo work is AED 55–68 per m² supply-only, and full-colour printed frosted is AED 78 supply-only or AED 105 installed. Minimum order is 3 m².

Can I print my logo on a frosted sticker?

Yes. Printed frosted puts full-colour artwork on the frost at AED 78 per m², while reverse cut leaves your logo as clear glass inside a frosted panel from AED 68 per m² — the more premium of the two looks.

Can people see through a frosted sticker?

No. Frosted film blocks the view in both directions while still letting daylight through. That is the difference between frosted and one way vision, which only works while the outside is brighter than the inside.

Can a frosted sticker be removed later?

Yes. It peels off and, when removed properly, leaves no residue on the glass — which is why tenants in leased Dubai offices prefer it over permanently etched panels.

Does frosted film reduce heat or glare?

Standard frosted film is a privacy and branding product, not a solar control film. It softens direct glare a little but is not designed to cut heat — that needs a dedicated solar film.
