A mall kiosk in Dubai has to read from ten metres away, in competing light, to someone who is walking past with a coffee and no intention of stopping. The print kit that does that job is short and specific: a branded promotion counter, a backdrop or pop-up wall behind it, one or two roll-ups, floor graphics in the approach path, and danglers overhead. A lean three-day activation lands at about AED 1,455. A kiosk you intend to run for a full season — reprintable, properly built — comes in near AED 4,800. Every number below is a live catalogue price in AED, VAT inclusive.

The five-item kiosk kit (and the order to buy it in)

Most first-time kiosk operators in Dubai buy backwards: a beautiful backdrop, then nothing at floor level, then a last-minute A4 poster taped to the counter the morning the kiosk opens. The sequence that actually converts footfall is the opposite — build from the shopper's eye-line down and out.

  1. The counter — the only item a shopper touches and looks at while talking to your staff. Brand it first.
  2. The vertical behind it — a backdrop, pop-up wall or tall roll-up that makes the kiosk visible down the length of the mall walkway.
  3. The approach — floor graphics and an A-board that catch people 5–10 metres before they reach you.
  4. Overhead — danglers, which are the cheapest height you can buy in a mall atrium.
  5. The take-away — flyers, cards, vouchers. Nothing fancy, but a kiosk with no take-away is a conversation with no follow-up.

The counter: your most important print item

There are two counters in the pop-up and roll-up range, and the difference between them is structural, not cosmetic.

The Promotion Counter at AED 950 is an aluminium frame with MDF panels, wheels at the base and a durable carry bag. Branding is digitally printed laminated vinyl. Print faces are 50 × 87 cm at the front, 24 × 87 cm on each side and 66 × 25 cm on top, and the top board can be cut to a custom shape — a useful trick if your logo has a strong silhouette. Wheels matter more than they sound: most Dubai malls require kiosks to be cleared or repositioned for overnight cleaning, and a counter you can roll is a counter your staff will actually move rather than drag.

The Pop-Up Display Counter at AED 2,040 is the lighter, event-grade alternative: a 200 × 95 cm print area with a 120 × 95 cm visible face, weighing 8 kg, collapsing flat. If the same counter has to serve a mall kiosk in November, a conference in January and a roadshow in March, this is the one that survives the travel. If it will live in one mall for a season, the AED 950 counter is the better buy.

The vertical: how much height your budget buys

Height is what separates a kiosk that reads as a brand from one that reads as a table. Three price tiers, all reprintable:

  • Roll-up, 85 × 200 cm — AED 190. Full-colour single-sided print, stand and bag included, 3 business days from artwork approval. The cheapest two metres of brand in the catalogue. Buy two: one either side of the counter frames the kiosk and costs AED 380 total.
  • Roll-up, 150 × 200 cm — AED 950. Nearly double the width, for when you need product imagery legible rather than decorative.
  • Fabric pop-up wall, straight 3×3 — AED 1,690. Aluminium frame, wheeled trolley bag, 288 × 225 cm print area with a 225 × 225 cm viewing area, 12 kg. The seamless fabric face photographs far better than panel systems, which matters if your kiosk is going on Instagram. Curved is AED 2,150; hardcase versions (1,850 straight / 2,450 curved) add a hard travel shell; backlit fabric at 3,450 straight / 3,950 curved is the one that holds its own against mall lighting — the single biggest visual upgrade available for a kiosk, and worth it in a dark-ceiling mall interior.

The approach: A-boards, standees and floor graphics

This is where kiosk budgets are usually under-spent. People do not walk toward a kiosk they notice at the last second; they drift toward something they clocked two shopfronts earlier.

Spring A-boards come in three sizes — S 80 × 115 cm at AED 900, M 90 × 190 cm at AED 1,000 and L 110 × 260 cm at AED 1,110 — with a 5-business-day production time. The M size is the sweet spot for mall walkways: tall enough to read over a crowd, narrow enough to sit inside a leased footprint.

Cheaper and lighter: Forex self-standees at AED 465, cutout standees at AED 525 (shaped to your product or a figure, which is why they get photographed), and Forex frame backlit standees at AED 1,850. Flat foam/Forex boards start at AED 245 for price lists, menu boards and directional signs.

Floor graphic stickers start at AED 95 and are the best value in this entire article. Soft white PVC film, 110 micron with 160 micron floor lamination, glossy or matt, cut square, round-cornered, custom-shape or as footprints. A trail of footprints leading to a kiosk entrance costs less than a single A-board and works on exactly the people who were not looking up.

Overhead and ambience

From the signage range: four round danglers at 15 × 15 cm for AED 220, or a single 60 × 60 cm dangler at AED 210. Danglers buy altitude for almost nothing, and in a double-height atrium they are often the first thing a shopper on the floor above sees.

For kiosks that trade on atmosphere — beauty, dessert, jewellery, perfume — neon signage at AED 550 is the cheapest premium cue available, and acrylic wall signage at AED 495 or a 3D acrylic sign at AED 1,150 gives a kiosk back-wall the finish of a permanent store.

Three builds that work

Weekend activation — AED 1,455. Promotion Counter (950) + one roll-up (190) + floor graphics (95) + four danglers (220). Enough to look deliberate for a three-day push.

Season kiosk — AED 4,800. Promotion Counter (950) + fabric pop-up wall (1,690) + two roll-ups (380) + A-board M (1,000) + floor graphics (95) + danglers (220) + cutout standee (465). This is the configuration that photographs well, survives three months and can be reprinted for the next campaign.

Outdoor pop-up — AED 5,150. Outdoor Tent 3×3 (3,450) + Promotion Counter (950) + two roll-ups (380) + floor graphics and danglers (315). For Dubai Festival City promenades, community markets and mall external plazas between November and March.

Practical constraints in Dubai malls

Three things catch kiosk operators out, and all three are solved at the print-specification stage rather than on installation day.

Graphics approval. Most major Dubai malls review kiosk and RMU artwork through their retail design or marketing team before installation, and the review covers what the graphics say as much as how they look. Build two or three working days into your timeline for that approval, on top of print production — and get your artwork approved before the press runs, not after.

Nothing fixed, nothing overhanging. Mall leases generally prohibit fixing anything to floors, walls, columns or ceilings, and require everything to sit within the leased footprint. This is precisely why free-standing, weighted and self-supporting formats dominate the list above — a roll-up, an A-board and a wheeled counter need no permission to exist. Removable floor film is the compliant way to brand mall flooring.

Reprint, don't rebuy. Roll-up stands, pop-up frames, A-boards, tent frames and counters are all hardware you keep. When the campaign changes, you reprint the graphic face only. A kiosk operator running four campaigns a year who buys hardware once pays for the frames in the first quarter and prints for the rest — the same logic laid out in our roll-up banner sizes and prices guide.

How to order, and the timeline to work back from

  1. Count back from your kiosk start date. Roll-ups run 3 business days from final artwork approval; A-boards and voucher-style print items around 5; counters 2–3. Add mall approval time and a delivery day. Ten working days before opening is comfortable; five is tight but workable for roll-ups and floor graphics.
  2. Download the guideline template for each hardware item from its product page. Pop-ups, counters and tents each have their own bleed and safe-area template, and the view area is always smaller than the print area — a logo centred on the print area will sit low on a pop-up wall.
  3. Send print-ready PDF: CMYK, 300 dpi at final size (large-format items can run lower if supplied at scale), 3 mm bleed, fonts outlined. No artwork? Send the logo, the offer and a reference — design support is included rather than billed separately.
  4. Approve the digital proof. Production starts at approval, not at order. Check the Arabic text at this stage if your kiosk is bilingual.
  5. Confirm the delivery window against your mall access slot. Kiosk deliveries usually have to go through a service entrance at a set time, so tell us the date and the slot when you order.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to brand a mall kiosk in Dubai?

A functional kit starts at about AED 1,455 — branded counter AED 950, one roll-up AED 190, floor graphics from AED 95 and four danglers AED 220. A full season kiosk with a fabric pop-up wall, two roll-ups and an A-board is around AED 4,800. Prices are VAT inclusive.

Can I reprint the graphics and keep the stand?

Yes, and you should. Roll-up cassettes, pop-up frames, A-boards, counters and tent frames are all reusable — only the printed face is replaced between campaigns. Outdoor tent roof tops in particular can be reprinted onto the existing frame.

How long does kiosk branding take to produce?

Roll-up banners are 3 business days from final artwork approval, promotion counters 2–3, spring A-boards around 5. Floor graphics and posters are faster. The clock starts when you approve the proof — not when you place the order — so approve quickly if your opening date is fixed.

Are floor stickers allowed in Dubai malls?

Removable floor film is widely used for mall activations, but it is a leasing question rather than a printing one: approval normally has to come from the mall, and the graphic must sit within your leased area. The film itself is designed for it — 110 micron PVC with 160 micron floor lamination, rated for high-traffic retail flooring and liftable without residue.

What size should my counter graphic be?

For the AED 950 Promotion Counter: 50 × 87 cm front, 24 × 87 cm each side, 66 × 25 cm top. For the AED 2,040 Pop-Up Display Counter: 200 × 95 cm print area with a 120 × 95 cm visible face. Keep logos and prices inside the view area — the difference between print and view area is where graphics get swallowed by the frame.

Do I need a different kit for an outdoor pop-up?

Mostly the same kit plus shelter. A 3 × 3 m outdoor tent is AED 3,450 with an anodised aluminium 40 mm hex frame, and can be branded on canopy only, canopy plus back wall, or canopy plus back wall plus full or half side walls. Avoid tall, light, unweighted standees outdoors.
