Ras Al Khaimah buys print differently from the rest of the UAE, because its economy is built on three things Dubai has less of: heavy manufacturing, resort hospitality, and free zone company formation at volume. A RAKEZ factory needs carton labels and job cards, not brochures. A hotel on Al Marjan Island needs door hangers and in-room print on a replenishment cycle. A new free zone licence needs a stationery kit in week one. Real numbers: 1,000 printed stickers from AED 370, 10 A4 NCR books at AED 500, 1,000 door hangers at AED 575, and 1,000 business cards at AED 119 — same national price list, delivered to RAK.

Three RAK buyers, three different print lists

Before the price table, it's worth separating who's ordering. The mistake most suppliers make in RAK is quoting a factory the same way they'd quote a marketing agency.

Factories and industrial units (Al Ghail, Al Hamra Industrial Zone, Al Jazeera Al Hamra) order operational print: product and carton labels, batch and barcode stickers, NCR delivery notes and job cards, safety and directional boards, and branded workwear. Repeat frequency is high, design change is low — which means the smart move is longer runs at lower unit cost.

Hotels and resorts (Al Marjan Island, Al Hamra Village, the Jebel Jais tourism corridor) order guest-facing print on a consumption cycle: door hangers, menus, compliment slips, paper cups, coasters, event signage. Quality tolerance is tight — a guest notices a cheap door hanger — and reorder timing is predictable enough to plan in advance.

Free zone companies (RAKEZ, RAK ICC) order a formation kit: business cards, letterheads, stamps, invoice books and a company profile. One concentrated order, then quiet for a year.

Factory print: labels are where the money is

For a RAK manufacturer, the label is not decoration — it's compliance, traceability and shelf presentation at once. Getting the material right matters more than getting the design right.

From the sticker and label range:

  • Paper stickers, glossy laminated (AED 370 per 1,000) — the default for carton marking, batch codes and indoor product labels. Lamination is what keeps the print legible through handling and warehouse dust.
  • Transparent PVC (AED 410 per 1,000 at 5 × 5 cm) — for glass, bottles and any pack where you want the substrate to show through. PVC also survives condensation, which paper does not; essential for anything chilled or washed.
  • Die-cut with gold foil (AED 510 per 1,000) — for premium lines, seals and gift ranges. Foil on a carton seal does more for perceived value than a more expensive box.
  • Short-run paper stickers (AED 230 per 100 at 7 × 7 cm) — for trials, samples and limited batches, where 1,000 would be waste.

If you're unsure whether a job needs paper, PVC or vinyl, our sticker material guide works through the decision by environment — indoor, outdoor, cold, wet, oily.

The second factory staple is the NCR book: delivery notes, job cards, gate passes, material requisitions. A4 full colour duplicate is AED 500 for 10 books; a one-colour A4 set is AED 294 for 5. Specify sequential numbering, the number of parts, and colour of each copy at artwork stage — the standard is white original, yellow or pink copy, so the site retains one and the driver returns the other.

Hotel and resort print in RAK

Al Marjan Island's build-out has made RAK a serious hospitality market, and hotel print is unusually price-sensitive per unit because volumes are large and consumption is constant.

Door hangers are the item guests touch most. Standard 120 × 285 mm on 350 GSM matt-laminated board is AED 575 per 1,000, AED 1,050 for 2,000. The compact cane design (95 × 240 mm) is AED 440 per 1,000 and works better on lighter door handles. Matt lamination is not optional here: an unlaminated hanger looks used after two guests.

Menus start at AED 265 and should be specified by how they'll be handled. Flat laminated for pool and outlet use; folded for restaurants; loose insert sheets if prices change seasonally, so you reprint one page rather than the whole menu.

Paper cups — double wall 8 oz with standard lids at AED 870 per 1,000, or AED 510 for 500 without lids — cover in-room, staff canteen and grab-and-go. Double wall is the right call for anything hot served without a sleeve.

For the full in-room and F&B checklist, our hotel and hospitality printing guide covers the same categories in detail.

Free zone company formation kit

A new RAKEZ or RAK ICC licence needs a predictable short list. Business cards at AED 119 per 1,000 matt laminated; A4 letterheads at AED 380 per 1,000; NCR invoice books; and a roll-up banner at AED 190 if you'll be at exhibitions or B2B events.

Two RAK-specific details. First, put your licence number and TRN on invoice books and letterheads at artwork stage — this is the most common cause of a reprint six weeks in. Second, if you trade across the northern emirates, keep the address block generic enough to survive an office move inside the same free zone; reprinting 1,000 letterheads because you changed unit numbers is avoidable.

Workwear, ID and site signage

For factories and hotels alike, staff identification is a print job. Branded polo shirts in 100% cotton 220 GSM are AED 35 per piece — embroidery for the chest logo, which survives industrial laundry far better than print; keep printed transfers for high-visibility back panels and event tees.

Printed lanyards at AED 2.45 per piece (20 mm, hook and safety lock) handle contractor and visitor passes. The safety lock — a break-away clasp — is not a nice-to-have on a factory floor; it's the version to specify anywhere there's machinery.

For site and reception signage, foam and Forex boards from AED 245 cover wayfinding, department boards and safety notices in a rigid, wipeable panel. For exterior and window work, signage options run from danglers at AED 210 to illuminated units.

Lead times and delivery to Ras Al Khaimah

Production time drives the schedule, not the drive. Standard offset work — stickers, NCR books, door hangers, letterheads — runs to the production time on each product page, typically around five working days from final artwork approval. Express items such as business cards turn around next working day. Delivery to RAK addresses — RAKEZ Al Ghail, Al Hamra Industrial Zone, Al Jazeera Al Hamra, Al Nakheel, Al Marjan Island — is a standard inter-emirate leg that normally adds a day.

For factories, the practical advice is to reorder labels at 30% stock remaining rather than at 10%. A production line waiting on carton labels costs far more than the labels.

Frequently asked questions

What's the minimum order for custom labels?

1,000 pieces for economy paper stickers at AED 370, but short runs exist — 100 paper stickers at 7 × 7 cm are AED 230 for samples, trial batches and limited editions. Per-piece cost drops sharply with volume because die and setup costs are fixed.

Which sticker material survives outdoors and cold storage?

PVC, not paper. Transparent PVC at AED 410 per 1,000 (5 × 5 cm) handles condensation, washing and temperature swings. Paper stickers — even laminated — will lift and discolour in a chiller or in direct sun.

Can you supply NCR books with sequential numbering?

Yes, and it's standard for delivery notes and gate passes. Give the starting number and the range when you send artwork. Also specify the number of parts: duplicate (1+1) or triplicate (1+2), which is AED 580 for 10 A4 books in full colour.

Do hotels in RAK get different pricing for bulk door hangers?

Pricing is by quantity, not by sector: 1,000 standard door hangers are AED 575 and 2,000 are AED 1,050 — so the second thousand costs AED 475. For a property with consistent occupancy, ordering the two-thousand tier is the better per-unit decision.

Can you print in Arabic for RAK government and free zone submissions?

Yes. Bilingual layouts are routine. Send the Arabic text or supply outlined artwork, and check the Arabic carefully on the digital proof — broken letter joins from font substitution are the most frequent error, and they're only visible at proof stage.

How fast can a new RAKEZ company get business cards?

Express next-day cards are AED 149 for 500 and AED 179 for 1,000 on 350 GSM matt laminated, produced the working day after artwork approval, then delivered to RAK.
