3D letter signage in Dubai starts at AED 950 for a fabricated logo sign, AED 1,150 in acrylic, AED 1,850 for a reception logo wall and AED 2,650 in stainless steel — VAT inclusive, made to your exact wall size. If you are pricing a reception wall, a shopfront or a clinic corridor this month, those four numbers are the budget anchors. Everything below explains what you actually get for each one, which material survives a Dubai summer on an exposed wall, when backlighting is worth the extra AED 1,000, and what the permit situation is before anything is drilled.
The short version for a busy marketing manager: acrylic is the correct default for most offices, clinics and salons. Stainless steel is for flagship lobbies and anywhere the sign is part of the brand's status. Wood belongs in F&B and hospitality interiors. Backlit is what you order when the sign has to read after dark or from across an atrium.
What "3D signage" means in practice
A flat printed panel — a sheet of acrylic or Forex with your logo printed on it — is the cheapest way to get a logo on a wall, and it reads as printed. A 3D sign is different: each letter and each shape in the logo is individually cut from solid material at a real thickness, usually 10 mm to 30 mm, and mounted so it stands off the wall. The result is that the sign casts a shadow. That shadow is the whole point — it is what makes a logo look fabricated rather than printed, and it is why photographs of your reception look like a brand rather than a print job.
Three decisions set the price: the material, the overall footprint of the logo on the wall, and whether it is lit. A small single-word logo in acrylic sits near the bottom of the range. A wide logo plus a tagline in brushed steel, backlit, on a 3-metre reception wall, sits at the top.
Material by material: what each one actually looks like
Acrylic — the default choice
3D acrylic signage from AED 1,150 is the most ordered option in Dubai for a reason. Laser-cut acrylic has a glass-smooth edge, takes any brand colour exactly, and at 10–20 mm thickness it throws a clean shadow without looking heavy. It is light enough to mount on plasterboard, it does not corrode, and if a letter is ever damaged it can be remade on its own instead of rebuilding the whole sign. For an office reception, a clinic, a co-working suite or a salon interior, acrylic does 90% of the job of steel at under half the price.
Stainless steel — the flagship finish
3D stainless steel signage from AED 2,650 is what people mean when they say a sign looks expensive. Brushed steel reads as weight and permanence; mirror-polished steel reads as luxury retail. Steel is also the material to specify if the sign is anywhere near outdoor air — a covered entrance, a podium lobby, a terrace — because it will not yellow or soften. The trade-offs are honest ones: it is the heaviest option, so the wall has to take the fixings, and bold brand colours are harder to reproduce in metal than in acrylic. Brands with a colour-critical logo usually specify steel for the mark and acrylic for the coloured elements.
Aluminium — metal look, less weight
3D aluminium signage from AED 2,450 gives you the modern metal appearance at noticeably less weight than steel, which matters on partition walls and in fit-outs where the landlord restricts fixings. Powder-coated aluminium also lets you hold a brand colour in metal, which steel does not do as convincingly.
Wood — warmth for F&B and hospitality
3D wooden signage from AED 1,050 is the quiet winner in cafés, specialty coffee, bakeries, barbershops, spas and boutique hotels. Wood photographs beautifully under warm lighting, which is exactly what those venues have. Keep it indoors and away from the kitchen line; Dubai humidity plus steam is not kind to timber over years.
Backlit — the one that reads at night
Backlit reception signage from AED 2,950 is a different product category, not an add-on. The letters are built with an internal LED array and mounted on standoffs so light spills onto the wall behind, producing the halo effect you see in hotel lobbies and mall entrances. Order it when one of three things is true: the wall is dark and a plain sign disappears into it, the space is photographed constantly and you want the logo to carry the frame, or the sign must be legible from more than about 15 metres away. It needs a power point behind the wall — get that into the fit-out drawings early, because chasing a cable into a finished wall afterwards costs more than the sign.
Neon and LED flex
Neon signage from AED 550 is the cheapest way to get a lit logo, and it is a genuinely different look — script, outline, a single word. It is the right call for a café feature wall, a photo corner, an event activation or a retail window. It is the wrong call for a corporate reception, where it reads as decoration rather than identity.

The flat-panel alternatives, if the budget will not stretch
Not every wall needs fabricated letters. A flat panel does the informational job for a fraction of the cost, and in a corridor or on a meeting-room door nobody is looking for shadow depth.
| Flat panel option | Typical use | From (VAT incl.) |
|---|---|---|
| Indoor wall signage | Corridors, notices, wayfinding | AED 395 |
| Office wall signage | Department and room identification | AED 425 |
| Acrylic wall signage | Clean panel with standoff fixings | AED 495 |
| Wall mounted signage | Larger panels, lobbies | AED 550 |
| Acrylic reception signage | Reception panel instead of fabricated letters | AED 750 |

The four specification decisions that move your price
1. Letter height, not word count. A sign's cost is driven by the area of material consumed and the number of separate pieces to cut and mount. A logo at 150 mm cap height costs far less than the same logo at 400 mm. Decide the height from the viewing distance: a rough working rule is 25 mm of cap height for every metre of viewing distance. A reception desk read from 4 metres needs roughly 100 mm letters; a mall façade read from 25 metres needs 600 mm or more.
2. Thickness. 10 mm gives a subtle, contemporary shadow. 20–30 mm reads as substantial and photographs better under downlights. Below 8 mm the shadow disappears and you have paid fabrication prices for something that looks printed.
3. How it mounts. Flush-mounted letters sit directly on the wall. Standoff-mounted letters sit on 15–25 mm spacers so light passes behind them — the same trick that makes a backlit sign work, available without LEDs. Standoffs cost slightly more and look considerably better on a plain white wall.
4. Number of separate pieces. A logo where every letter is separate takes longer to mount and align than the same logo cut as one piece on a hidden backing plate. If your logo has thin connecting strokes, a backing plate is also what stops it snapping in transit. Our designers will tell you which your artwork needs.
What goes wrong with 3D signs in Dubai (and how to avoid it)
Adhesive-only mounting on a hot wall. Double-sided tape alone is fine for a lightweight acrylic sign on an air-conditioned interior wall. On a wall that gets afternoon sun through glazing, or for any metal sign, it needs mechanical fixings. Signs that fall off walls in August almost always fell off a sunny wall.
Ordering before the wall is finished. Paint colour changes the sign. A white acrylic logo that looked perfect on the drawing disappears on the pale wall the contractor actually painted. Confirm the final wall finish before fabrication, or specify a colour with real contrast.
Low-resolution logo files. A JPG pulled off a website cannot be laser-cut. We need vector artwork — AI, EPS or a vector PDF. If all you have is a raster logo, our designers redraw it as part of the free design service; send it early rather than the day before you need the sign up.
No power provision for a lit sign. Decide on backlighting before the electrician leaves the site. Our guide to print and signage for a new office launch sequences this properly against a fit-out timeline.
Permits: what needs approval and what does not
Interior signage inside your own leased unit — a reception logo wall, corridor signs, meeting-room plates — generally does not require a municipality permit, though most landlords and building management offices want to see a drawing before anyone drills into a wall in a shared building. Ask for that approval in writing; it takes a day and saves an argument.
Anything on a building façade, a shopfront fascia, a window seen from outside, or visible from a public road is a different matter: exterior signage in Dubai requires a signage permit from Dubai Municipality or, inside a free zone or a master-planned community, from that authority, and normally a landlord NOC plus a dimensioned drawing. Build two to four weeks of approval time into your plan and confirm current requirements with the relevant authority, since rules and fees change. Our guide to indoor and outdoor signage in Dubai covers the exterior side in more detail.
How to order, step by step
- Measure the wall. Width and height of the usable area, plus a photograph taken straight on. If the sign goes behind a desk, include the desk in the photo.
- Send the logo and the measurements on WhatsApp +971 52 210 0909 or call 0522100909. You get a firm, VAT-inclusive quote the same day.
- Approve the visual. Our designers produce a proof showing your sign at scale on your wall — design is free, and nothing is cut before you sign off.
- Fabrication and delivery. Signs are made to your exact dimensions and delivered anywhere in the UAE; installation in Dubai can be arranged with the order.
Payment is 100% in advance — card, bank transfer, or split into four with Tabby or Tamara. Companies ordering against an LPO should set up a corporate account first.
Frequently asked questions
How much does 3D signage cost in Dubai?
From AED 950 for a fabricated 3D logo sign. Wood starts at AED 1,050, acrylic at AED 1,150, a wall feature sign at AED 1,250, a reception logo wall at AED 1,850, aluminium at AED 2,450, stainless steel at AED 2,650 and a backlit reception sign at AED 2,950. All prices include 5% VAT. The final figure depends on the footprint of your logo and the finish.
Acrylic or stainless steel — which should I choose?
Acrylic unless you have a specific reason not to. It holds brand colours exactly, is light enough for any wall, and costs less than half of steel. Choose steel when the sign is the centrepiece of a lobby, when the brand positioning is premium, or when the sign sits in semi-exposed air where acrylic would eventually discolour.
Is a backlit sign worth the extra cost?
Worth it in three situations: the wall is dark and an unlit sign vanishes against it, the space appears constantly in photographs and video, or the sign must be readable from more than about 15 metres. In a bright, white, daylit reception, a standoff-mounted unlit sign at AED 1,850 photographs almost as well for AED 1,100 less.
How big should the letters be?
Roughly 25 mm of capital-letter height for each metre of viewing distance. Reception desk seen from 4 metres: about 100 mm. Corridor sign read at 2 metres: 50 mm is plenty. Shopfront read from 25 metres across a car park: 600 mm or more. Send us the wall photo and the viewing distance and we will set the height on the proof.
Do you install 3D signage in Dubai?
Yes — installation in Dubai can be arranged with your order, and we deliver finished signs anywhere in the UAE. Tell us the wall construction (plasterboard, block, glass, timber) when you order so the right fixings come with the sign.
What artwork do you need?
Vector artwork — AI, EPS or vector PDF — plus the wall dimensions. If you only have a JPG or PNG logo, our designers will redraw it to vector at no charge as part of the free design service. See the print-ready artwork checklist for the file details.
How long does a 3D sign take?
Fabrication typically runs a few working days from artwork approval, depending on material and size — steel and backlit builds take longer than plain acrylic. If you have a launch date, say so when you request the quote and we will confirm the schedule against it. For anything genuinely last-minute, see what is possible in our guide to same-day and next-day printing in Dubai.
