Here is the honest answer most Dubai printers won't give you: next-day is real, true same-day usually isn't. Approve print-ready artwork today and 500 matt-laminated business cards are in your hand tomorrow for AED 149, or 1,000 for AED 179 — VAT included. What almost nobody can do is take unfinished artwork at 2pm and hand you foiled, die-cut, velvet-laminated cards by 6pm, because three of those four processes physically cannot be compressed. This guide sets out exactly which jobs move fast, which don't, what the express premium costs, and the five things that decide whether your deadline is achievable.
What "express" actually means in Dubai printing
The standard production window across most print jobs in the UAE is 4 to 5 working days after final artwork approval. Express compresses that to one working day — but only for a specific class of job: digital printing, standard sizes, standard stock, standard finishing.
The critical phrase is after final artwork approval. In practice, the deadline most people miss is not the printer's; it's the internal approval round-trip. A file that goes to a manager for sign-off at 4pm on Thursday does not enter production until Sunday morning. Count from approval, not from the moment you decide you need something.

The three speed tiers
Next business day — digital, standard, simple
Business cards are the one product genuinely built for overnight turnaround. Approve today, printed overnight, ready the next business day. The spec is fixed for a reason: 350 gsm premium board, matt lamination front and back, full colour both sides, standard 5.7 × 9.2 cm. Every variable that would need a separate pass through a machine has been removed.
Small-run digital work in the same family — short-run flyers, simple certificates, basic name cards — can often ride the same schedule. Ask; don't assume either way.
Three working days — large format
A roll-up banner at 85 × 200 cm is AED 190 and produced in 3 working days including the stand. Wide-format printing is fast because it's a single pass with no lamination curing and no cutting die — the constraint is the physical hardware assembly, not the print. This is the fastest route to a visible presence at an event you found out about on Monday.
Larger roll-ups take the same three days: 150 × 200 cm at AED 950, 300 × 200 cm at AED 1,680. Size doesn't slow it down; installation does. More on the range in our large format printing guide.
Four to five working days — everything else standard
Letterheads, envelopes, brochures, folders, stickers, NCR books, packaging. Offset printing runs in batches, lamination needs curing time, and cutting needs a die. AED 230 for 500 A4 letterheads at 120 gsm in five days is the normal shape of the market. Paying more does not reliably make this faster — it makes it more expensive.
What genuinely cannot be rushed
If your job includes any of the following, next-day is off the table regardless of budget:
- Foiling. Gold or silver foil needs a heated die. The die has to be made. That alone is 2–3 days before anything prints. Foiled 1,000-card jobs are AED 299 and five days, and there is no version of this that happens tomorrow.
- Spot UV and 3D spot UV. A second registered pass over cured lamination. The registration is unforgiving and rushing it produces visible misalignment.
- Die-cutting and custom shapes. Custom shape cards at AED 225 per 1,000 need a physical cutting die produced first.
- Velvet and thick 760-micron stock. Multi-layer lamination that must cure flat before trimming, or the edges delaminate.
- Corporate gift branding. Engraving, embroidery and pad printing on physical products sit on a separate production line with their own setup — typically 5–7 days.
- Anything needing a physical proof. If you need to hold a sample before committing, add a day for the proof and a day for your decision.
Five things that decide whether you get it tomorrow
- Is your artwork genuinely print-ready? Correct bleed, safe margins, outlined fonts, 300 dpi images, CMYK not RGB. A file that fails pre-flight is not an express job, it's a design job with a deadline attached. Run it against our print-ready artwork checklist before you send it.
- What time did you approve? Approval before the afternoon cut-off makes tomorrow realistic. Approval at 7pm means the overnight run has already started without you.
- Is it a standard size and stock? Standard sizes run on pre-loaded stock. A custom trim size means a new setup and a new schedule.
- Is the colour critical? If a brand colour has to match a Pantone reference exactly, you need a proof, and a proof costs a day. Our note on CMYK vs RGB explains why the screen version will not match the printed one.
- Where is it going? Dubai and Sharjah deliver same-day or next-morning. Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the Northern Emirates add a day — so a "next-day" print reaching Abu Dhabi is realistically day two.
What the express premium actually costs
Compare like for like: 500 standard matt-laminated cards are AED 99 on a five-day schedule; the express next-day equivalent is AED 149. That's AED 50 — a 50% premium in percentage terms, and a rounding error in absolute terms. At 1,000 pieces the gap narrows further: AED 119 standard against AED 179 express, AED 60 for four days saved.
Put differently: if a delayed card costs you one meeting, the express fee has already paid for itself several times over. Where express stops making sense is on large-volume or heavily finished jobs, where the premium scales with the complexity rather than staying flat.
How to order express printing
- Send the file first, ask questions second. The only way to know if tomorrow is possible is to look at the artwork. Send the PDF and your deadline in the same message.
- State the deadline as a date and time. "Tomorrow" is ambiguous. "In hand by 10am Wednesday at our Business Bay office" is actionable.
- Drop the finishes you don't need. Foil, spot UV and round corners are what turn a one-day job into a five-day job. Print standard now, print the premium version next week.
- Approve the digital proof fast. You'll get a proof within the hour. Every hour it sits unapproved comes straight off your buffer.
- Confirm the delivery address at PO stage. Changing the drop-off after production is scheduled is the most common cause of a missed express deadline.
Frequently asked questions
Can I get business cards printed the same day in Dubai?
For a very small digital run with genuinely print-ready artwork received early in the day, same-day is sometimes possible — but it is never a promise made in advance, and it excludes lamination, which needs time to cure. The reliable product is the next-day express card at AED 149 per 500. Message us with your file and your deadline and you'll get a yes or no straight away rather than a hopeful maybe.
Does express printing reduce the quality?
No. The express card is 350 gsm premium board with matt lamination on both sides and full-colour printing — the same stock and finish as the standard five-day card. What you lose is the range of options, not the quality of the ones available.
Why is express more expensive if it's the same product?
Because it jumps the queue. Standard jobs are batched together so several clients share one machine setup and one lamination run. An express job runs on its own schedule overnight, so it carries the full setup cost alone. That is the entire difference — AED 50 on a 500-piece order.
What's the fastest I can have a banner for an event?
Three working days for a roll-up banner at AED 190, stand included, from approved artwork. If your event is sooner than that, tell us the date anyway — large format has more scheduling flexibility than offset, and the answer is sometimes better than the published lead time.
Can you deliver express orders to Abu Dhabi or Sharjah?
Sharjah runs on the same schedule as Dubai. Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the Northern Emirates add roughly a day in transit, so plan an express order to Abu Dhabi as a two-day job rather than a one-day job.
My designer hasn't finished the artwork. Can you still hit tomorrow?
Only if the file arrives print-ready. If it needs bleed added, fonts outlined or images resupplied at print resolution, that work happens before production starts and it eats the overnight window. The fastest thing you can do right now is send whatever you have so we can tell you exactly what is missing.
