Certificate printing in Dubai starts at AED 420 for 500 A5 certificates on 300 gsm Bristol board, AED 585 for A4 and AED 890 for A3 — all prices VAT inclusive. Short custom runs start from AED 365. If you also need presentation folders, seals or awards to hand out alongside them, the full recognition kit is easy to cost in one go. This guide covers the paper, the finishes, the holders and the production timeline, with real prices from our store.
A4, A5 or A3: choosing the certificate size
Size is a decision about where the certificate ends up, not about how important the achievement is.
- A5 (148 × 210 mm) — course completions, attendance certificates, internal recognition, school and nursery awards. Cheap enough to issue in volume, and fits a standard A5 envelope or a slim folder.
- A4 (210 × 297 mm) — the default for corporate and professional certificates. This is what people frame and hang, and it is the size every certificate holder on the market is built for.
- A3 (297 × 420 mm) — annual awards, partner recognition, "employee of the year" pieces meant to be displayed in a reception area rather than filed.
A practical note on volume: our stock certificate lines run at 500 pieces because that is where offset printing becomes efficient. If you need 40 certificates for a single training cohort, the short-run custom certificate product from AED 365 is the right line to order — digital printing, no plate cost.
Paper: why 300 gsm Bristol is the standard
Every certificate we print on the stock lines uses 300 gsm Bristol board, and there is a reason it has become the UAE default. Bristol is a smooth, uncoated-feel board that holds crisp black text without the glare of a coated sheet, takes a signature in ink without feathering, and is stiff enough that the certificate does not curl when it is handed across a stage.
Lighter stock is a false economy here. At 200 gsm a certificate flops in the hand, and that is exactly the wrong signal for a document whose entire job is to feel significant. Heavier options (350–400 gsm) are available on custom orders and are worth it when the certificate carries a foil seal or an embossed crest. Our paper GSM guide maps every weight to its use case if you want the full comparison.
Uncoated vs coated: a signature test
If certificates will be signed by hand — and most corporate and academic ones are — specify uncoated or matt. Ink sits on top of a glossy coated sheet and smudges for several minutes. Bristol board absorbs it immediately. Ask for a matt finish and the signing table stops being a problem.
Real certificate printing prices in Dubai
Live prices from the certificates collection, in AED, inclusive of 5% VAT.
| Product | Size | Material | Qty | Price (AED) | Per piece |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Certificates A5 | A5 | 300 gsm Bristol, 1-side print | 500 | 420 | 0.84 |
| Certificates A4 | A4 | 300 gsm Bristol, 1-side print | 500 | 585 | 1.17 |
| Certificates A3 | A3 | 300 gsm Bristol, 1-side print | 500 | 890 | 1.78 |
| Custom certificates | Any | Custom stock & finish, short run | Custom | from 365 | — |
The per-piece column is the number worth internalising. At 500 pieces an A4 certificate costs AED 1.17 — less than the coffee served at the ceremony. Doubling the size from A5 to A4 adds only AED 0.33 each, which is why we almost always recommend A4 for anything an employee or student will keep.
Foiling, seals and embossing
A gold seal is the fastest upgrade from "printed document" to "award". Three routes, in order of cost:
- Foil sticker seals. The practical choice. 1,000 gold foil stickers cost AED 460 — about AED 0.46 per certificate — and they are applied after printing, so you can use the same seal across every certificate design you run this year. A die-cut version in a custom shape is AED 510 per 1,000.
- Hot foil stamping. Foil applied directly to the certificate with a heated die. Better looking, permanent, and priced per project because of the die. Worth it above roughly 300 pieces of a single fixed design.
- Blind embossing. No colour, just a raised impression — the most understated and the most expensive per unit. Usually reserved for a crest or corporate seal on premium academic and professional certificates.
Whichever route you take, leave a clear zone of at least 25 mm at the bottom of the layout for the seal and signatures. This is the single most common artwork fix we make on certificate files.
Certificate holders and presentation folders
The holder is what people notice at the moment of handover. Real prices from the folders collection:
| Holder / folder | Best for | Qty | Price (AED) |
|---|---|---|---|
| A4 folders, 400 gsm, velvet lamination, 3D gold foil | Premium certificate presentation, one pocket | 100 | 1,425 |
| Printed presentation folders | Standard corporate certificate folders | Custom | from 1,150 |
| Cork cover folder B5 with notepad & pen | Training programmes — folder doubles as the delegate kit | Per piece | 18.50 |
| Eco-friendly A4 folder with notepad, pen & card slots | High-volume workshops and conferences | Per piece | 9.50 |
| Leather portfolio with zipper and calculator | Executive and board-level recognition | Per piece | 35.00 |
| Cross A5 zip writing folder with agenda and pen | Top-tier awards where the holder is itself the gift | Per piece | 138.00 |
Two useful benchmarks: AED 9.50 buys a branded folder that makes a AED 1.17 certificate feel like a AED 50 one, and at the executive end a Cross zip folder at AED 138 replaces both the holder and the gift. Our presentation folder guide covers pocket types and die-cutting in more depth.
Beyond paper: when the award should be an object
For annual awards, some recipients should get something that stands on a desk. Current pricing: glass medals with ribbon and box at AED 13, a crystal trophy with round black base in a fiber box at AED 84, a Number One crystal trophy with gold-lock box at AED 110, and crystal and marble awards in a hardboard box at AED 115. All take UV printing or laser engraving. The crystal awards guide has the full shape-by-shape breakdown.
How to order certificates in Dubai
- Lock the wording first. Names, titles and dates are what get reprinted. Get the list signed off before artwork, not after.
- Send a print-ready PDF with 3 mm bleed, fonts outlined, images at 300 dpi CMYK. If you need names variable-printed, send an Excel sheet with one row per recipient and exact spelling — we merge it into the layout.
- Approve the proof. You get a digital proof within one working day. Production time starts at approval, not at order.
- Allow 3–6 working days for printing, plus 1–2 days for foiling or folder assembly.
- Delivery is UAE-wide. Dubai and Sharjah are typically next-day after production; Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Ajman and Ras Al Khaimah add a day.
No artwork? Our design team creates the certificate layout free with your print order. Send your logo, the wording and any reference you like the look of.
Frequently asked questions
What is the cheapest way to print certificates in Dubai?
500 A5 certificates on 300 gsm Bristol at AED 420 — AED 0.84 each — is the lowest cost per piece on our stock lines. Going to A4 costs AED 585 for the same quantity. If you need far fewer than 500, order the custom short-run line from AED 365 instead of paying for capacity you will not use.
Can you print individual names on each certificate?
Yes. Send a spreadsheet with one row per recipient and we variable-print the names during the run. Check the spelling of every name before you send it — this is the one thing that cannot be fixed after printing without a reprint.
Do you print certificates in Arabic?
Yes, in Arabic, English or bilingual layouts. Send Arabic text with fonts embedded or outlined in the PDF. Arabic needs a little more line spacing than Latin at the same point size, so allow room in the layout — we will flag it on the proof if it looks cramped.
How fast can I get certificates printed in Dubai?
Standard production is 3–6 working days after artwork approval. Add 1–2 days if you are also ordering foil seals or presentation folders. If you have a ceremony date, tell us at the time of ordering and we will confirm whether it is achievable before you pay.
Should I laminate certificates?
Usually not. Lamination prevents hand signatures, adds cost, and makes a certificate look like an ID card rather than an award. If durability is the concern — a certificate that will be displayed in a workshop or clinic — laminate a few copies and leave the rest uncoated.
What size envelope fits an A4 certificate?
An A4 wood-free envelope at AED 1,340 per 1,000 takes a flat A4 certificate without folding — the right choice when certificates are posted. Sizes and weights are compared in our envelope printing guide.
