Decide this first, because it changes the order by a factor of a hundred.
- Desk mouse pad or desk mat — a durable item that lives on one person's desk for years. Ordered in tens or low hundreds. Priced per piece. Goes in onboarding kits, client gifts, IT refresh rollouts and conference delegate bags.
- Printed paper table mat / placemat — a single-use printed sheet that sits under a plate or tray. Ordered in thousands. Priced per thousand. Goes in restaurants, cafés, hotel breakfast service, food courts and event catering.

Branded mouse pads: sizes and materials that matter
The standard sizes
There are three formats worth knowing. The round pad (roughly 20-22 cm diameter) is the cheapest to produce and the most forgiving for a circular logo. The classic rectangle (around 22 × 18 cm) is the default for a horizontal logo lock-up with a tagline. The extended desk mat (typically 80 × 30 cm or 90 × 40 cm) covers keyboard and mouse together, and it has quietly become the premium office gift because it also protects the desk surface and looks deliberate in a video call.
Materials, ranked by how they age
- Cork. Natural, recyclable, warm under the wrist, laser-engraves beautifully. Cork is the material to choose when the brief says "sustainable" and the budget says AED 4-22. It does mark over time with liquids.
- Recycled PU (vegan leather). Wipes clean, stays flat, looks like an executive accessory. This is the material for desk pads and for anything a C-level recipient will see. Debossing a logo into PU is more durable than printing on it.
- Rubber-base with fabric top. The classic. Full-colour edge-to-edge printing, best mouse tracking, lowest cost at volume. Fabric tops fray at the edge after about two years of heavy use unless the edge is stitched.
- RPET. Recycled polyester top on a rubber base — the same print quality as fabric with an ESG story attached, which is why DMCC, DIFC and listed-company buyers keep asking for it.
The wireless-charging decision
Roughly half of our corporate mouse pad orders now carry a 15W wireless charging coil. The honest assessment: it doubles or triples the unit price, and it is worth it only when the pad is a standalone gift rather than one item in a kit. A plain cork round at AED 4.00 inside a delegate bag does its job. A 15W charging pad at AED 39.00 handed over as the gift does a different job. Don't pay for the coil and then bury the item in a tote.

Read the 1,000 → 2,000 row carefully: on A3 70 GSM you pay AED 10 more for a thousand extra mats. If you get through 500 mats a week, ordering 2,000 instead of 1,000 costs almost nothing and saves you a reorder. GSM, finish and the one mistake to avoid
For paper table mats, 70 GSM economy is correct for high-turnover fast food where the mat is seen for eleven minutes. 90 GSM gloss is the sensible middle for cafés and casual dining. 130 GSM gloss feels like a placemat rather than a liner and belongs under à la carte service and hotel breakfast.
The mistake: ordering a gloss finish for a venue that serves oily food. Gloss shows grease marks and shows them immediately, which makes a clean table look dirty. Branding methods for desk mats
- Laser engraving on cork: permanent, no colour, single-tone burn. Best for a clean wordmark. Free of consumable cost, so it is the cheapest option at low quantity.
- Debossing on PU: a pressed impression, tonal and subtle. The executive choice.
- Full-colour sublimation on fabric or RPET tops: edge-to-edge artwork, photographs, patterns. Priced per piece with a one-time setup.
- Pad printing or UV on hard surfaces and charging-pad housings: for small logos on the non-fabric areas.

How to order
- State which product — desk mouse pad or bulk paper table mat. This determines whether we quote per piece or per thousand.
- Send quantity and size. For desk pads give the headcount; for paper mats give A3 or B3 and your weekly usage so we can recommend a quantity tier.
- Send artwork as AI, EPS or PDF with outlined fonts. Paper mats need 3 mm bleed; desk mats need the logo as vector for engraving or debossing.
- Approve the proof. Digital proof within one working day; physical samples on request for desk mats.

What is the minimum for printed paper table mats?
500 pieces for A3 and B3 in 90 and 130 GSM gloss; 1,000 for the 70 GSM economy stock. Given that 2,000 A3 economy mats cost only AED 10 more than 1,000, almost every F&B client we quote ends up at 2,000 or above.
Can you print a custom size desk mat?
