Product label printing in Dubai starts at AED 230 for 100 laminated paper labels and falls to under 6 fils a label on bulk runs of 50,000 — all prices VAT inclusive. But price is rarely what sinks a label order. Material is. A label on a shampoo bottle in a steamy bathroom, a label on a frozen dessert tub and a label on a dry retail carton are three different products, and ordering the cheapest one for all three is how brands end up with peeling corners and smudged batch codes two weeks after launch. This guide covers which material survives which product, how to size and shape labels, when you need rolls instead of sheets, and what each tier costs in Dubai right now.

Label or sticker? The distinction that changes your order

Commercially they are the same print process on the same self-adhesive stock. Practically, a sticker is decorative or promotional — a laptop sticker, a seal on a gift box, a giveaway. A product label carries information a buyer and a regulator both rely on: brand, variant, net weight, barcode, batch number and expiry. That changes three things about how you specify it:

  • Legibility is non-negotiable. Six-point ingredient text on a glossy curved surface is a reprint waiting to happen.
  • It must survive the product's life, not the first week. Cold-chain condensation, oil, alcohol wipes and sunscreen all attack adhesive.
  • It needs a variable-data area for batch and expiry, usually overprinted by you after delivery.

Everything below is specified with that in mind. For purely decorative use, our sticker and label range gives you cheaper options you can safely cut corners on.

Choosing the material by product type

Laminated paper — dry retail and cartons

Paper with gloss or matt lamination is the default and the cheapest route in. It handles handling, scuffing and light humidity, and matt lamination takes a pen or a thermal overprint for batch codes better than gloss does. Use it for dry goods, boxed products, coffee bags, candles, retail cartons and shelf-ready packaging. 100 matt-laminated 7×7 cm labels are AED 230, and the same in gloss is the same price — pick on finish, not budget.

Vinyl — anything that gets scrubbed, wet or left in the sun

Vinyl is the tough material. It survives washing, UV, abrasion and outdoor exposure, which makes it the right call for cleaning products, workshop and automotive goods, garden products, equipment asset labels and anything that will spend time on a loading bay in a Dubai July. Custom die-cut vinyl in 8×8 cm starts at AED 345 for 250 pieces.

Transparent PVC — cosmetics, glass jars, honey, sauces

Clear PVC makes the design look printed straight onto the product, which is why cosmetics, candles, cold-press juice, honey and glass-jar food lines almost always specify it. It is water and oil resistant and the clear carrier hides any slight misalignment on a curved surface. 1,000 transparent PVC labels at 5×5 cm are AED 410; the larger 20×10 cm wrap-style label is AED 450 for 300, which is the size most 500 ml bottles need.

One practical caution: white ink is not printed on transparent stock in standard runs, so anything you want opaque — a white logo, white body text — needs either a printed white block behind it or a design that works with the product colour showing through. Plan for it at artwork stage, not after proofing.

Premium paper and foil — when the label is the packaging

For skincare, fragrance, gifting and anything priced above AED 150 retail, the label carries the perceived value. Adestor premium stock runs AED 730 for 1,000, and gold foil adds a metallic accent: AED 460 for 1,000 foil labels, or AED 510 if you also want a custom die-cut shape. A 3×3 cm transparent PVC label with gold foiling is AED 575 for 500 — small, expensive per piece, and the single most common choice for cosmetic jar lids.

Unlaminated paper — internal and logistics labels

If the label never faces a customer, stop paying for lamination. Unlaminated bulk sheet labels exist to drive the unit cost down for carton marking, shelf labelling, internal asset tagging and production line use. They are dry-indoor only.

Are product labels waterproof?

Vinyl, transparent PVC and laminated paper are all water and oil resistant — fine for bottles, jars, fridge storage, food packaging and outdoor products. Unlaminated paper is not, and that is a feature of the price, not a defect.

Two cases need a flag before you order. Freezer and chilled products go on wet, cold surfaces, and standard adhesive applied to a condensation-covered tub will lift at the edges; tell us the product is cold-chain so the right adhesive is specified. Alcohol and solvent contact — sanitiser, nail products, some cleaning concentrates — can attack both ink and adhesive, so send the product details and we will match the stock rather than guess.

Real label prices in Dubai (2026)

All prices include VAT. Unit price is what matters on a product label, so it is shown alongside.

Label type Size Quantity Price (VAT incl.) Per label
Matt-laminated paper 7×7 cm 100 AED 230 2.30
Round paper label 5 cm round 200 AED 375 1.88
Economy laminated, 80 gsm standard 1,000 AED 350 0.35
Economy, any custom shape your shape 1,000 AED 370 0.37
Transparent PVC 5×5 cm 1,000 AED 410 0.41
Transparent PVC, bottle wrap 20×10 cm 300 AED 450 1.50
Gold foil label standard 1,000 AED 460 0.46
Transparent PVC + gold foil 3×3 cm 500 AED 575 1.15
Adestor premium stock your shape 1,000 AED 730 0.73
Unlaminated bulk sheet 8×12 cm 1,000 / 5,000 / 50,000 AED 410 / 810 / 2,810 0.41 → 0.056
Unlaminated bulk sheet, large 23×17 cm 1,000 / 10,000 / 50,000 AED 600 / 2,500 / 6,500 0.60 → 0.13

The pattern is worth internalising before you place an order: on the 8×12 cm sheet label, 1,000 pieces costs 41 fils each and 50,000 costs 5.6 fils each — a 7× improvement. If you are labelling ongoing production rather than a launch batch, the quantity question is the price question. Our guide to printing MOQs in Dubai explains where those break points come from.

Roll labels or sheet labels?

This is the question most new product owners get wrong, and it has nothing to do with print quality.

Sheet or piece labels arrive cut and stacked, or on a backing sheet you peel from by hand. Every price in the table above is this format. It is right for runs up to a few thousand, for multi-SKU brands where each variant has its own small quantity, and for anyone applying labels by hand in a kitchen, studio or small facility. It is also cheaper, because there is no finishing step to wind and core the material.

Roll labels are wound on a core, in a fixed direction, with a specified gap between labels — because a machine, not a person, is peeling them. If you have a semi-automatic or inline label applicator, you need rolls, and you need three specs from your machine before you can even be quoted: core diameter (usually 40 mm or 76 mm), wind direction (which edge of the label leaves the roll first), and label gap. Get one wrong and the roll is unusable on your line.

Rough rule: under 5,000 labels a month applied by hand, order sheets. Over that, or if you own an applicator, specify rolls and send us the machine model — roll work is quoted per job because the finishing depends on your line, so send the details on WhatsApp rather than ordering a sheet product and hoping.

Sizing and shape: get this right first

Measure the product, not the artwork. Three numbers decide everything:

  1. The flat label area. On a cylindrical bottle, the printable face is roughly one-third of the circumference before the label starts curving away from the eye. A 250 ml bottle with 20 cm circumference takes a 6–7 cm wide front label comfortably, not 10 cm.
  2. The curve. Tight curves — lip balm tubes, 30 ml dropper bottles, test-tube style packaging — need a narrow label or a full wrap. A rigid label on a tight curve will tent at the corners.
  3. The information load. If your label needs brand, variant, net weight, ingredients, barcode, batch and an Arabic panel, you need area. Cram it and you get a label nobody can read at shelf distance.

Round is the most requested shape and comes ready in 5, 6 and 10 cm. Beyond that, a full contour cut around your logo costs no more than a rectangle once the die is set — see the die-cut range and our breakdown of die-cut cost per sticker.

Laying out a label for the UAE market

Practical layout points we see tripped over weekly on retail-bound labels:

  • Leave a defined Arabic panel. Retail buyers in the UAE will usually expect Arabic alongside English on consumer products. Designing the English label first and squeezing Arabic in later never works — allocate the space in the first layout.
  • Protect the barcode quiet zone. Keep clear space either side of the bars, keep the bars on a light background, and never put a barcode across a curve tight enough to distort it.
  • Reserve a batch and expiry block. A clean unprinted or lightly tinted rectangle, matt-finished, in a position your overprinter or stamp can reach.
  • Keep critical text 3 mm clear of the cut line. Cutting tolerance is real on any volume run.

How to order product labels in Dubai

  1. Send the product details. Material of the container, contents, whether it is chilled, frozen, oily or alcohol-based, and whether labels go on by hand or by machine. This determines the stock before anything else.
  2. Send artwork as print-ready PDF — CMYK, 300 dpi, 3 mm bleed, with the cut line as a separate spot-colour path if you want a custom shape. Vector files (AI, EPS, PDF) cut far more cleanly than a JPG. Our print-ready artwork checklist covers the specifics. No artwork yet? Our designers prepare it free with every order.
  3. Approve a digital proof. Check the Arabic text with a native reader, check the barcode scans from the proof, and check net weight and variant names — these are the three fields that get reprinted.
  4. Production and delivery. Most runs are ready in 3–5 business days after approval. Delivery is free across the UAE on orders over AED 800, or collect from our Sheikh Zayed Road office.

One recommendation worth the extra week: before committing to 10,000 labels, order 100 at AED 230, apply them to the real product, and leave it in the conditions it will actually live in — a fridge, a bathroom, a car boot. A AED 230 test has saved more label budgets than any specification sheet.

Frequently asked questions

What is the minimum order for product labels in Dubai?

100 pieces for laminated paper labels at AED 230, and 250 pieces for custom die-cut vinyl at AED 345. There is no lower tier worth printing — below 100 the setup dominates the cost, so a small test batch of 100 is the sensible floor.

Which label material should I use for cosmetics?

Transparent PVC for glass and clear plastic — AED 410 per 1,000 at 5×5 cm — because the design reads as printed onto the container. For premium lines, 3×3 cm transparent PVC with gold foiling at AED 575 per 500 is the standard jar-lid choice. Both are water and oil resistant, which matters for products handled with wet or greasy hands.

Can you print labels on rolls for my labelling machine?

Yes, but roll work is quoted per job rather than bought off the shelf, because the core size, wind direction and label gap all depend on your applicator. Send us the machine model and the label dimensions on WhatsApp and you get a price the same day.

Do you print labels with white ink on transparent material?

Standard transparent PVC runs print CMYK only, so a white logo or white text will show the product colour through it. If you need opacity, the usual solutions are a printed light block behind the element, a design that works with show-through, or a white-stock label with a clear border instead. Flag it before artwork, not after.

How much cheaper is a bulk label run?

Substantially. On the 8×12 cm unlaminated sheet label, 1,000 pieces is AED 410 (41 fils each) while 50,000 is AED 2,810 — 5.6 fils each. On the larger 23×17 cm format, 50,000 works out at roughly 13 fils. If your annual volume is above 20,000, ordering in one bulk run and storing is almost always cheaper than four reorders.

How long does label printing take in Dubai?

Three to five business days after artwork approval for most runs. Bulk runs above 10,000 and foiled or specialty stocks can run slightly longer. Tell us your launch date on WhatsApp and we confirm feasibility before you pay.

Do you deliver labels outside Dubai?

Yes — across the UAE, including Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Al Ain, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain. Delivery is free on orders above AED 800.
