Five backdrop systems, and when each one is the right answer
Seamless fabric backdrops — the reusable default
A dye-sublimated fabric skin stretched over a tension frame. No visible joins, no glare under photography lights, and the skin folds into a bag while the frame packs into a case. Crucially, you can reprint the fabric next year and keep the frame — which is why marketing teams running four or five events a year end up here. Indoor is AED 1,650, the curved version AED 1,850, and the reinforced outdoor build AED 2,150.
Velcro pop-up backdrops — fastest to build
A concertina frame that springs open, with printed panels attaching by Velcro. Two people can build a 3 × 3 m in well under ten minutes with no tools, which matters when the venue gives you a ninety-minute setup window. AED 2,370 for 3 × 3 m and AED 2,680 for 4 × 3 m.
Heavy duty backdrops with metal stand — outdoor and high-traffic
A rigid metal frame carrying a tensioned print, weighted for wind. The correct specification for anything outdoors in Dubai between October and March, when an afternoon gust will flatten a lightweight frame. AED 2,250 for 2.5 × 2.5 m and AED 2,550 for 4 × 3 m, or AED 1,950 for the outdoor heavy duty print on its own.
Wooden backdrops — premium, permanent-feeling builds
Carpentry, not a frame system. A wooden backdrop is built, painted or wrapped, and reads as architecture rather than as event kit — this is what you see behind a stage at a launch or an awards night. It is the most expensive route and the least portable, but nothing else photographs like it. From AED 3,950 for a wooden frame backdrop and AED 4,620 for a 180 × 240 cm build, up to AED 9,500 for 4 × 2.5 m. Add backlighting and you are at AED 14,175 for 3 × 2.5 m or AED 22,050 for 4 × 2.5 m.
Standees — one person, one product, one message
Where a backdrop is a wall, a standee is a single figure. Forex board cutouts at AED 465 to AED 525 are the workhorse for retail activations, product launches and mall promotions. Backlit standees in a Forex frame (AED 1,850), iron frame (AED 3,650) or wooden frame (AED 4,850) turn the same footprint into something that reads from across a dark exhibition hall.

Sizing: the numbers that actually matter on the day
Most backdrop mistakes are sizing mistakes, not printing mistakes. Four rules from event work in Dubai:
- Height 2.4–2.5 m minimum for a press wall. Below that, a tall guest's head breaks the top edge in every photograph. 3 m is safer if you have the ceiling.
- Width: allow 1 m per person in frame. A 3 m wall comfortably holds three people; a four-person cheque presentation needs 4 m.
- Keep logos out of the bottom 80 cm. That band is blocked by people standing in front of it. Repeat the logo across the wall at eye level and above — a step-and-repeat pattern exists because a single centred logo disappears the moment someone stands in front of it.
- Check the ceiling height and the door width before ordering. A 3 m wooden panel does not go through a 2.1 m service door. Ask the venue for both numbers; it takes one email and prevents an expensive morning.
On artwork: build files at 1:10 scale, 150 dpi, in CMYK, with 5 cm bleed all round on fabric skins since the edges wrap into the frame channel. Photographs need to be genuinely high resolution — a 3 m wide print exposes an image that looked fine on a laptop.

- Send artwork or ask for design. Send the print file at 1:10 scale, or send us the logo and brand colours and our design team will build the layout. Design is free with every order.
- Approve, produce, deliver. You approve a scaled proof before printing. Delivery covers Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi; on-site installation can be arranged for wooden and heavy-duty builds — ask when you enquire, not on the day.

Can a backdrop be used outdoors?
Only if it is specified for it. Use the outdoor seamless fabric backdrop (AED 2,150) or a heavy-duty backdrop with a weighted metal stand (from AED 2,250). A standard indoor frame is not built for wind and will not survive an exposed site.
Can I reuse the backdrop and just reprint the graphic?
Yes, and it is the cheapest way to run a multi-event year. Fabric skins on tension frames and Velcro pop-up panels are both reprintable — you keep the hardware and pay only for the new print. Tell us at the order stage so we specify a frame built for repeat use.
What size should a photo or press wall be?
At least 2.4–2.5 m tall so heads do not break the top edge, and roughly 1 m of width per person expected in frame. A 3 × 2.5 m wall covers most press moments; go to 4 m wide for group presentations and awards.
Do you install on site?
Installation can be arranged for wooden and heavy-duty builds. Mention it when you enquire so we can quote it in and schedule a crew against your venue access time — venue access windows in Dubai are usually tight, and the crew has to be booked around them.
