Branded towels are the most-used corporate gift in the UAE that nobody plans properly. A cooling towel in a carry bottle lands at AED 11.50 a piece, a microfibre cooling towel in a pouch at AED 9.00, a sports hand towel with carabiner at AED 23.00 and a cotton gym towel from AED 10.00. Four towel types, four different jobs
The word "towel" covers four genuinely different products in corporate gifting, and the wrong pick is the main reason these gifts end up in a drawer.
- Cooling towels (microfibre/PVA) — soak, wring, snap, and they drop surface temperature for 20–30 minutes. Built for outdoor UAE events, construction site welfare kits, running clubs and anything between April and October. They are not absorbent bath towels and should not be sold as such.
- Gym hand towels (cotton terry) — 30 × 90 cm to 40 × 90 cm, genuinely absorbent, the one a member drapes over a treadmill. The default for fitness studios and gym membership welcome packs.
- Golf and sport towels with carabiner — a clip is the whole point: it hangs on a golf bag or gym bag instead of being left on a bench. Highest perceived value of the group for the price.
- Beach towels — 70 × 140 cm and up, usually supplied in a drawstring bag. Summer client gifting, hotel and resort merchandise, family-day events.
Rule of thumb for the UAE calendar: cooling towels for outdoor events and summer giveaways; cotton terry for indoor gyms and staff kits; beach towels for client gifting and hospitality.
GSM and fabric: the numbers that matter
For cotton towels, GSM is the single best predictor of how a gift is received:
- 350–400 GSM — thin, dries fast, feels like a budget item. Acceptable only for high-volume event giveaways.
- 450–500 GSM — the sweet spot for gym hand towels. Absorbent, substantial in the hand, still dries overnight.
- 550–600 GSM — premium feel, slower to dry. Right for beach towels and executive gifts, overkill for a gym hand towel.
For microfibre cooling towels, GSM is the wrong measure — look at the fabric blend and the size instead. A 30 × 100 cm cooling towel in polyester/polyamide microfibre is the standard; the RPET versions in our range are made from recycled bottles, which matters if your company reports on sustainable procurement. Terry cotton should be 100% cotton for absorbency: a polyester blend is cheaper and dries faster but repels water, which defeats the purpose.
How logos go on — and stay on
- Embroidery — stitched into the terry. The most durable option and the only one that survives a hundred industrial washes. Priced by stitch count, so a simple wordmark is cheap and a detailed crest is not. Keep the design above 4 cm wide; fine detail disappears in pile.
- Sublimation — dye bonded into polyester fibre, so full-colour and photographic artwork is possible with no feel on the surface. Works on microfibre and polyester towels only, not on cotton.
- Heat transfer / DTF — a printed film pressed on. Full colour on cotton, but it sits on top of the fabric, so on a towel that gets wrung out repeatedly it is the first to fail. Use it for event giveaways, not for staff kits.
- Woven label — a branded tab sewn into the hem. Subtle, premium and the cheapest way to brand a beach towel you do not want covered in a logo.

Three kits that work, costed per head
These are the three combinations we assemble most often for UAE clients.
- Event giveaway, AED 14–20 per head — RPET cooling towel in pouch (AED 9) plus RPET wrist band with zipper pouch (AED 5). Light, flat-packed, survives an outdoor booth in October. Add a foldable frisbee at AED 2.98 for family-day events.
- Gym or studio membership pack, AED 38–45 per head — cotton gym towel (AED 10), protein shaker (AED 16) and 420D drawstring duffle (AED 13). This is the one fitness studios reorder; it looks like a retail product and costs less than two months of a membership margin.
- Wellness programme gift, AED 75–95 per head — cooling towel in RPET bottle (AED 13), exercise kit with resistance band (AED 23), recycled cotton duffle (AED 21) and an RPET sports cap (AED 22). Comes to AED 79 and reads as a considered corporate wellness gift rather than a giveaway.

How to order
- Confirm quantity and towel type. Stock items run from 50 pieces for most towels; cooling towels and accessories from 100 pieces. Larger runs move to bracket pricing.
- Send vector artwork. AI, EPS or PDF with outlined fonts. For embroidery, we convert to a stitch file (DST) and send a stitch-out approval. For sublimation, send CMYK artwork at 300 dpi at final size.
- Approve the sample. Embroidery jobs get a physical stitch sample before the full run — thread colour on towelling never looks exactly like it does on screen. Allow 2 working days for this.
- Production. 5–7 working days for embroidery and sublimation on stock items from receipt of approval. Individual polybagging or kit assembly adds 2–3 days.
- Delivery. Free across Dubai and Sharjah. Abu Dhabi, Ajman, RAK, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain next-day by courier.
Frequently asked questions
What is the minimum order for branded towels in the UAE?
50 pieces for cotton gym towels and golf towels with embroidery, and 100 pieces for microfibre cooling towels with sublimation. Below those numbers the setup cost per piece roughly doubles, so if you need 20 for an awards ceremony it is usually better to pick a different gift than to pay a short-run premium.
Do cooling towels actually work in Dubai heat?
Yes, with a caveat. They work by evaporation, so they cool well in dry heat and much less in high coastal humidity — noticeably better in Al Ain or on an inland site than on a humid August afternoon in Dubai Marina. Re-wetting takes seconds, so supply them for events where water is available.
Embroidery or print on a gym towel?
Embroidery, if the towel is cotton and the recipient will keep it. It survives repeated hot washes, which a heat-transfer print on terry does not. Print or sublimation only on microfibre and polyester towels, where it is dyed into the fibre and lasts.
Can you supply towels individually packed with a tag?
Yes — individual polybags, a printed belly band, a swing tag or a drawstring pouch. Add 2–3 working days for assembly. Belly bands and tags are often the cheapest way to make an AED 10 towel look like a retail product.
What colours are available without a minimum surcharge?
White, black, grey and navy are held in stock across most towel lines. Brand-specific colours such as a corporate teal are a dyed-to-order job: higher minimum (typically 500 pieces), 4–6 weeks, and a dye-lot tolerance you should see on a swatch before approving.
Are these prices inclusive of VAT and logo branding?
Yes. All prices quoted here include 5% VAT and one-position single-colour branding. Additional logo positions, extra thread colours and full-colour sublimation on cotton items are quoted separately.
