Vehicle branding in Dubai runs from AED 1,790 for cut-vinyl door decals to AED 7,600 for a full wrap covering the entire body except the roof. On top of the graphics, commercial vehicles need an RTA permit to advertise — a separate line item at AED 2,350 per vehicle, with a defined document list and, for full wraps, a one-time CID inspection. This guide covers what each coverage level costs, which vinyl survives a Dubai summer, and the exact paperwork the RTA expects before your van goes on the road.
All prices are current store prices in AED, inclusive of 5% VAT, for design, printing, lamination where specified and professional installation in Dubai.
Why vehicle branding still pays in the UAE
A branded fleet is the only advertising you buy once and run for years. A van doing deliveries across Dubai Marina, Business Bay and Al Quoz is in front of a different audience every hour of the working day, with no monthly media spend and no ad platform taking a cut. The arithmetic that matters to a marketing manager: a full wrap at AED 7,600 amortised over a three-year vinyl life is under AED 215 a month per vehicle — less than a week of modest paid social, running continuously.
The catch is that a badly executed wrap does the opposite. Cheap vinyl chalks and fades in UAE sun, edges lift at panel gaps, and a peeling logo on a company van tells customers more about your standards than any brochure. This is a job where the material specification and the installer matter more than the print price.
The five coverage levels, and who each one suits
Door branding — logo, phone, licence details
Plotter-cut or print-and-cut vinyl applied to the front doors, usually with your logo, service line and contact number. This is the minimum most Dubai businesses need: enough to identify the vehicle, cheap enough to roll across a fleet of ten without a board meeting. Ideal for maintenance companies, clinics, catering and any operation where the vehicle enters residential communities.
Partial branding — doors plus panels
A step up: doors, rear panel, sometimes the tailgate. You get a real visual footprint without paying for full body coverage. This is the sweet spot for service fleets that want to look established rather than shout.
Half wrap — doors, bumper and selected body panels
Printed semi-curve vehicle-grade vinyl across the lower and mid body, with the upper panels left in the vehicle's own colour. A half wrap reads as a designed brand vehicle from twenty metres, at roughly three-quarters the price of a full wrap. Used across cars, vans, box trucks, buses, food trucks and trailers.
Full wrap — everything except the roof
Complete body coverage in digitally printed semi-curve vehicle-grade vinyl, four-colour eco-friendly inks, professionally installed and carrying a one-year warranty. Rated for a 0°C to 50°C operating range, which is the specification that matters here — it is the summer surface temperature of a parked vehicle, not the air temperature, that kills cheap film. Choose this when the vehicle is the campaign.
Specialist units — vans and golf carts
Full van coverage with semi-curve sticker and UV lamination is priced as its own product because vans have more square metres and more awkward curves than a saloon. Golf cart branding is a category of its own in Dubai — resorts, golf clubs, large communities and hospitality operators run them as mobile brand assets around properties where cars are not permitted.

Read the last row carefully when you build your budget. A fleet of five vans with full wraps is AED 38,000 in graphics plus AED 11,750 in permit handling — the permit is roughly 30% on top and it is not optional for commercial advertising. Fleet quantities are quoted individually; the per-vehicle rate drops once the artwork is set up and the crew is installing the same design repeatedly.
Materials: what actually survives a Dubai summer
Three specification points do most of the work.
Semi-curve vehicle-grade vinyl. Standard flat vinyl will not conform to the compound curves on a modern bumper or wheel arch without lifting. Semi-curve film has the conformability to sit down into those shapes and stay there. This is the grade used on the half and full wraps above.
UV lamination over the print. The print itself is not the wear surface — the laminate is. It takes the UV load, resists abrasion from washing, and is why a laminated wrap still looks saturated in year two while an unlaminated one has gone chalky. On the van package, UV lamination is specified as standard. Do not accept a wrap quote in the UAE that omits it.
Four-colour eco-friendly inks on large-format digital. Solid brand colours print cleanly; if a corporate colour has to match a Pantone exactly across a fleet, say so at quotation stage so it can be profiled rather than approximated. Where a design is a single solid colour with no gradients, cut coloured vinyl often beats printing on both cost and longevity — the same logic we cover in our sticker material guide.
The RTA permit: documents, inspection and sequence
Advertising on a commercial vehicle in Dubai requires a permit from the RTA. The document set required for commercial vehicles is specific:
- Design of the advertisement — a mock-up showing the artwork applied to the vehicle
- Trade licence of the advertising company (the company producing and applying the branding)
- Trade licence of the party requesting the advertisement (your company)
- Copy of the vehicle's ownership certificate (mulkiya)
- Vehicle presented for CID inspection — one time, and required for full wrapping only
The permit service charge is AED 2,350 per vehicle. Two planning points follow from this list. First, the mock-up has to exist before the permit application, so your design timeline sits ahead of your permit timeline, which sits ahead of your installation date — work backwards from the day the vehicle must be on the road. Second, the CID inspection applies to full wraps, so a fleet going full-wrap needs vehicles available for inspection, not out on jobs.
Free zones and other emirates run their own rules. A vehicle registered in Sharjah or Abu Dhabi and branded for work in Dubai should be checked against the requirements of its own registering authority as well. Regulations and fees are updated periodically — confirm current requirements before committing a fleet-wide budget.
How to order vehicle branding
- Send the vehicle model, year and body type, plus how many vehicles. A Hiace, a Transit and a saloon are three different surface areas and three different prices.
- Send artwork in vector format — AI, EPS or PDF with outlined fonts. If you have a logo but no vehicle layout, our design team will build the wrap layout onto a template of your exact model.
- Approve the mock-up. You see the design rendered on the vehicle from every side. This same file goes into the RTA application, so approve it properly — changes after submission cost time.
- Permit, then production. The application runs while the artwork is being prepped for print. Full wraps schedule the CID inspection at this stage.
- Installation. Vehicles are installed professionally in Dubai. Bring the vehicle clean and, ideally, drop it for the day — panels are wrapped, edges are wrapped into gaps, and the film needs to settle.

Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to brand a car in Dubai?
Door branding starts at AED 1,790 and custom vehicle branding at AED 2,800. A half wrap is AED 5,900 and a full wrap AED 7,600. Add AED 2,350 per vehicle for RTA permit handling on commercial advertising.
Do I need RTA permission to put my logo on my company car?
Commercial vehicle advertising in Dubai requires an RTA advertising permit. You will need the design mock-up, the trade licence of the company doing the branding, your own trade licence, and a copy of the vehicle ownership certificate. Full wraps additionally require a one-time CID inspection of the vehicle.
How long does a vehicle wrap last in the UAE?
A properly specified wrap — semi-curve vehicle-grade vinyl with UV lamination, professionally installed — is built for a working life of several years, and the full wrap carries a one-year warranty. Lifespan depends heavily on whether the vehicle is garaged or parked in full sun, and on washing: avoid high-pressure jets aimed directly at edges and seams.
Will the wrap damage my paintwork?
Vehicle-grade vinyl is designed to be removable and, applied to factory paint in sound condition, generally protects the panel underneath from stone chips and UV rather than harming it. Trouble comes from resprayed or already-damaged paint, where the repair layer can lift with the film. Tell your installer if any panel has been resprayed.
Can you brand a leased or financed vehicle?
Usually, but check your lease agreement first — many leasing companies in the UAE require written approval before any graphics are applied, and some require the vehicle returned in original condition. Get that approval in writing before ordering.
Can you do a single vehicle, or is there a minimum fleet size?
Single vehicles are welcome — every price above is per vehicle. Fleets are quoted individually and get better per-unit rates because the artwork setup is done once and the installation is repetitive.
