If you are branding a construction hoarding, a site perimeter or an event fence in Dubai, the whole decision comes down to one question: flex or mesh. Flex is a solid PVC sheet that blocks the view and prints like a poster, from AED 45. Mesh is perforated so wind passes straight through it, from AED 55. Choose flex on a sheltered run where image quality matters most; choose mesh anywhere exposed, because a flex banner in a windy position tears at the eyelets before the project finishes. This guide covers sizing, eyelets, artwork that reads from across a road, and the rest of the site branding kit with real prices.

Flex vs mesh: the decision in detail

Flex banner

A solid PVC sheet. Colours sit denser, photographs hold detail, and nothing behind the banner is visible — which is exactly the point on a construction hoarding where the client does not want the public looking at a muddy site. The trade-off is physics: a solid sheet is a sail. Wind pushes against the full area, and all of that load transfers to the eyelets and the fence.

Flex is the right call for a hoarding between buildings, a courtyard, a mall atrium, an indoor exhibition perimeter, or any run where the wind is broken by something upwind.

Mesh banner

Perforated with thousands of small holes across the surface. Wind passes through rather than pulling, so the banner and the fence both survive the season. The trade-off is a slightly softer image, because a percentage of the printed surface is literally missing. At normal viewing distance — across a road, from a passing car — you will not see the difference. Up close you will.

Mesh is the right call for an open plot, a long unbroken run, a rooftop, a coastal site, anywhere near Sheikh Zayed Road, and any site that has to stand through a shamal.

The short rule: sheltered and short → flex. Exposed, long or high → mesh. If you are genuinely unsure, mesh costs AED 10 more and removes the risk entirely.

Real prices: fence banners in Dubai (2026)

Fence banners are made to your measurements, so the figure on the invoice depends on the finished size. These are the live starting prices from the store, VAT included, with eyelets and free artwork preparation.

Product Material Best for Price from (AED, VAT incl.)
Fence Banners – Flex Solid PVC flex Sheltered hoardings, maximum image quality, full view block 45
Fence Banners – Mesh Perforated mesh Open sites, long runs, rooftops, coastal and high-wind positions 55

Both are custom-sized with eyelets along the edges, printed full colour with UV-resistant ink, and supplied ready to hang with cable ties — no frame, no installer, no permit-triggering structure. Send your dimensions on WhatsApp and you will get the exact figure for your run before you commit.

Sizing, eyelets and how they actually go up

Fence banners install with cable ties and a ladder. Two people, a roll of ties, an afternoon.

  • Eyelet spacing. Every 50 cm along the edges is the standard. On an exposed run, ask for closer spacing and — this is the part sites get wrong — fix every single one. A banner tied at every third eyelet will flap, and flapping is what tears the material.
  • Panels, not one giant sheet. For long runs we print in overlapping panels rather than one enormous banner. Easier to carry, easier to hang, and if a truck clips one panel you replace that panel instead of the whole hoarding.
  • Standard hoarding height. Most Dubai site hoardings run 1.8 m to 2.4 m tall. Measure the panel you are covering, not the fence overall — the useful print area usually stops below the top rail.
  • Leave a margin. Keep critical text and logos at least 10 cm inside the edge. Eyelets punch through the print, and a punched hole through the middle of a phone number is a reprint.

Artwork that works at 30 metres

The single most common mistake on hoarding graphics is treating them like a brochure. Your reader is in a moving car, 30 metres away, for about two seconds.

One headline. One logo. One number. That is the whole brief. If the design has a paragraph of body copy on it, nobody will read the paragraph and the headline will have been shrunk to make room for it.

Send print-ready PDF or AI at the finished size. Scaled artwork is fine — 1:10 is normal for a large run — as long as you tell us the scale. Images need to be good enough at final size; a 1 MB JPEG stretched across six metres will look like a 1 MB JPEG stretched across six metres. Our print-ready artwork checklist covers bleed, margins and resolution in full.

UAE sun and colour

Print is UV-resistant and holds through a summer outdoors. Strong reds and deep blues are always the first to shift on any outdoor print — that is a property of the pigments, not of the printer. If the banner must match brand colours exactly for a year or more, say so when you order and we will advise on ink and finish. Also worth reading first: why your printed colours look different from your screen.

What contractors get wrong (and what it costs)

Ordering flex for an exposed site to save AED 10. The banner tears within weeks, and the replacement costs the full price again plus the day of a site team re-hanging it. The AED 10 was never the expensive part.

Ordering one panel for a 30-metre run. Unwieldy to transport, awkward to hang, and a single point of failure. Panels are not a compromise; they are the correct method.

Approving artwork on a phone. A hoarding graphic reviewed at 6 cm wide looks fine. Print it on A4 and hold it at arm's length — that is closer to how it will actually read.

Forgetting the developer's brand guidelines. Most master developers and contractors have hoarding specifications covering logo lock-ups, safety messaging and permitted colours. Check before you design, not after the proof.

How to order

  1. Measure the run. Total length and usable height of the fence panel, in metres.
  2. Decide flex or mesh using the rule above — or send us a photo of the site and we will tell you.
  3. Send artwork or a logo to WhatsApp +971 52 210 0909 or call 0522100909. We prepare artwork free of charge and send a proof for approval before printing.
  4. Approve, print, deliver. Standard turnaround is 3–5 working days from proof approval. Delivery is free inside Dubai on orders above AED 800; outside Dubai and across the GCC we quote by address and quantity.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a permit for a fence banner in Dubai?

Branding on your own site hoarding is normally handled through the project's existing hoarding approval rather than a separate signage permit, and most master developers have their own hoarding specification you must follow. Anything mounted as a freestanding structure or overhanging public space is a different matter — our signage permits guide explains where the line sits. Check with your main contractor or developer before you print.

How long does a fence banner last outdoors in the UAE?

A correctly specified and correctly fixed banner comfortably covers a typical project phase. Mesh in an exposed position outlasts flex in the same position by a wide margin, because the failure mode outdoors is almost always wind tearing the material at the fixing points, not the print fading.

What is the maximum size you can print?

Large runs are printed in overlapping panels rather than a single sheet, so there is effectively no limit on total length. See our large format printing guide for material-by-material maximum widths.

Can you print fence banners for a one-day event?

Yes — event fencing, festival perimeters and sports ground boards are the same product. For a single day, flex is usually the better choice: the image quality is higher and wind exposure is a known, short risk. Tell us the event date and we will work backwards from it.

Do fence banners come with eyelets, and are they included in the price?

Yes. Eyelets along the edges are standard and included, normally at 50 cm spacing. Ask for tighter spacing on an exposed run — it costs nothing to specify and it is the cheapest insurance on the job.

Do you deliver to sites outside Dubai?

Yes, across all seven emirates and the wider GCC. Delivery inside Dubai is free on orders above AED 800; elsewhere we quote by address and quantity. Site deliveries need a contact name and mobile number for the gate — send both with the order.
