Acrylic signage in Dubai starts at AED 395 for a flat indoor wall sign and reaches AED 2,950 for a backlit reception feature wall. Between those two numbers sit the signs most offices actually buy: a laser-cut acrylic wall sign at AED 495, a 3D raised-letter acrylic sign at AED 1,150, and a full reception logo wall at AED 750 flat or AED 1,850 in 3D. All prices below are VAT-inclusive and taken directly from our live catalogue, and every one of them includes design setup, fabrication and standard Dubai delivery.

This guide explains which sign type belongs where, what drives the price up or down, what the municipality and free-zone rules mean for interior signs, and how long the whole job actually takes. If you are fitting out a new office, read it alongside our new office launch print and signage checklist.

The four sign types that cover 95% of office requirements

1. Flat acrylic wall signage (AED 395–550)

A single sheet of cast acrylic, typically 3–5 mm, printed or vinyl-applied on the reverse so the graphics sit behind a glossy face. It is mounted on stainless standoff bolts that hold the panel 20–25 mm off the wall, which creates a shadow line and makes the sign read as deliberate rather than stuck on.

This is the workhorse. Use it for department names, meeting-room identifiers, values walls, directory boards and anything where the sign needs to be clean but is not the first thing a visitor sees. Our wall signage range covers this category: Indoor Wall Signage at AED 395, Office Wall Signage at AED 425, Acrylic Wall Signage at AED 495 and Wall Mounted Signage at AED 550. The differences are panel thickness, print method and fixing hardware rather than anything structural.

2. 3D acrylic letters and logos (AED 1,150–1,250)

Here the acrylic is laser-cut into the actual letter shapes, usually 10–20 mm thick, and each element is individually pinned to the wall. There is no background panel, so the wall colour becomes part of the design. This is what people mean when they say the signage looks expensive — the depth casts a real shadow and the edges are flame-polished so they catch light.

3D Acrylic Signage is AED 1,150 and 3D Wall Signage is AED 1,250. Both sit in the acrylic signage collection. The trade-off against a flat panel is installation: individually pinned letters need a drilling template and a spirit level, and a badly fitted 3D sign is far more obvious than a badly fitted panel. Budget an installer, not a volunteer.

If you are comparing acrylic against brushed steel or backlit channel letters for a lobby or exterior application, our dedicated 3D letter signage guide breaks down the material choices in more detail.

3. Reception signage (AED 750–1,850)

Reception is the one sign where spending more is defensible, because it is the only sign that every visitor, candidate and auditor photographs. Three tiers exist in the reception signage range:

  • Acrylic Reception Signage — AED 750. A flat acrylic logo panel on standoffs, scaled for a reception wall rather than a corridor. The safe default for a 20–60 person office.
  • 3D Reception Signage — AED 1,850. Cut letters and logo marks pinned directly to the feature wall. Best when the wall behind is a finish you want to keep visible.
  • Backlit Reception Signage — AED 2,950. LED-illuminated halo or face-lit letters. Requires a power point behind the wall and a driver box, so it must be agreed with the fit-out contractor before the wall is closed.

4. Backlit and illuminated (AED 2,950+)

The premium tier. Halo-lit letters — light spilling behind the letters onto the wall — read more premium than face-lit and hide the LED strip entirely. The practical constraint in Dubai offices is almost never budget; it is the power supply. If your landlord will not allow a new circuit behind the reception wall, a surface-mounted driver in the ceiling void is the usual workaround, and it needs to be planned, not improvised.

Prices are for standard sizes. Oversized panels, mirror gold or silver acrylic, stainless-faced letters and site installation outside Dubai are quoted separately — send us the wall dimensions and we will price the exact piece.

What actually drives the price

Size, then depth, then finish — in that order. Doubling the width of a panel roughly doubles the material cost. Going from 3 mm flat to 15 mm cut letters multiplies fabrication time, because every letter is cut, polished and drilled individually. Finish is the smallest of the three variables: a matte laminate or a metallic vinyl face adds far less than most people assume.

Letter count matters for 3D. A five-letter logo and a fifteen-letter tagline are not the same job even at the same overall width. If budget is tight, drop the tagline from the 3D sign and put it on a flat acrylic plate beneath — it reads cleaner anyway.

Thin strokes cost more. Script fonts and hairline serifs under about 4 mm stroke width are fragile in acrylic and often need a backing plate or a switch to cut vinyl on acrylic. Send us the logo file early and we will flag this before you approve anything.

Permits, landlords and the rules that actually apply

Interior signage inside your own leased premises — reception logos, wall signs, meeting-room plates — does not require a Dubai Municipality signage permit. What it does usually require is landlord or facilities-management approval for wall fixings, and in most free zones a short fit-out notification if you are drilling into a demised wall. DMCC, JAFZA, Dubai Internet City and DIFC all run their own fit-out desks; the approval is routine but it is not instant, so start it the same week you approve the artwork.

Anything visible from outside the building — a sign on the glazing line, on the facade, or on a shopfront — is a different matter and does need a municipality or free-zone signage permit, plus an approved contractor. Our indoor and outdoor signage guide covers the exterior permit process in full. For glazing that needs privacy rather than branding, frosted glass film is a far cheaper route than etched acrylic.

How to order

  1. Send the wall dimensions and a photo. Width and height of the usable wall area, plus a straight-on photo. This is the single most useful thing you can send — it prevents a sign that is technically correct and visually too small, which is the most common signage mistake in Dubai offices.
  2. Send the logo as vector. AI, EPS, PDF or SVG. A JPG or a PNG pulled from a website cannot be laser-cut; it has to be redrawn, which adds a day. See our artwork checklist if you are unsure what you have.
  3. Approve a scaled visual. We return a mock-up of your sign on your actual wall photo, with dimensions marked. Check letter height against viewing distance: a reception logo read from 4–5 metres wants letters around 100–150 mm tall as a minimum.
  4. Fabrication. Flat panels are typically 3–4 working days. 3D cut letters are 4–6. Backlit is 6–8 because of the LED assembly and testing.
  5. Delivery or installation. Delivery across Dubai is standard. Installation is arranged by appointment — book it outside working hours if the sign is going up in a live reception, because drilling and dust in a client-facing area during the working day is a bad afternoon for everybody.

Frequently asked questions

How long does acrylic signage last in a Dubai office?

Indoors, effectively indefinitely — cast acrylic does not yellow under office lighting and the print is on the reverse face, so it cannot be scuffed. The failure mode is almost always the fixing, not the panel. Outdoors or in a sun-exposed atrium, UV and heat are real: expect visible ageing on standard acrylic within 2–3 years and specify UV-stable material or an aluminium composite face instead.

Can you match our exact brand colour?

Yes, if you give us the Pantone reference. Printed acrylic gets very close to most Pantones; solid coloured acrylic sheet comes in a fixed range, so a close match is chosen from stock. Note that a colour approved on a backlit screen will not look identical printed — our CMYK vs RGB explainer covers why.

What is the minimum order?

One piece. Signage is made to order, so there is no MOQ in the way there is for printed items. If you are ordering a set of meeting-room signs, tell us the full list up front — producing eight plates in one run costs materially less per plate than ordering them one at a time over three months.

Do you install, or is it supply only?

Both. Flat panels on standoffs are genuinely DIY-able if you have a drill and a level — we supply the template. 3D cut letters and anything backlit should be fitted by our team; the cost of a crooked 3D sign is repainting the wall.

Can we get the sign in a day?

Not acrylic fabrication. If you have an event or an audit tomorrow, the realistic option is a printed foam-board or forex panel as a temporary stand-in, with the acrylic following the week after. See same-day and next-day printing for what genuinely turns around in 24 hours.

What about signage for a rented or short-lease office?

Standoff-mounted panels leave four small holes that fill and paint out in ten minutes, which most landlords accept without argument. Avoid full-bleed adhesive wall graphics on painted plasterboard in a short lease — removal frequently takes the paint with it.
